    • injection solution (supplied in 100 ml glass bottles);

    Shelf life – 3 years from the date of production, choosing for storage in dry places with a temperature of 0-30°C without access to sunlight. The contents of opened bottles should be used within 21 days. Improper storage conditions, damage to the packaging, turbidity or change in color of the liquid, the appearance of impurities make Fospasim unsuitable for use.

    The formula is based on plant extracts and mineral tinctures:

    • yellow phosphorus;
    • black henbane;
    • aconite pharmaceutical;
    • passionflower (passion flower) red and white;
    • dried musk deer musk;
    • Ignacy bitter;
    • platinum.

    Drops and injection solution have the same set of components. The differences lie in the degree of their dilution and the excipients used: glycerin and purified water (in drops), sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, ethyl alcohol, sodium acetate trihydrate and water for injection (in injection solution).

    Composition and release form

    The drug is available in two forms: drops for oral use and solution for injection. Drops are convenient to dose and use independently, which is why this form of release is more in demand.

    Fospasim is intended for the treatment and prevention of various behavioral disorders in dogs.

    Fospasim contains the following components:

    • yellow phosphorus;
    • pharmaceutical aconite;
    • black henbane;
    • passionflower red and white;
    • Ignacy bitter;
    • musk deer gland secretion;
    • platinum.

    Operating principle

    Fospasim components provide:

    • stabilization of emotional and psychological state;
    • antipsychotic effect;
    • reducing manifestations of aggressiveness and fearfulness;
    • increasing the adaptive capabilities of the body;
    • suppression of emotional reactivity and hyperkinesis (involuntary pathological movements);
    • regulation of the functioning of brain regions involved in the formation of emotional and behavioral reactions, sensorimotor integration and learning processes.

    On a note! An important advantage of Fospasim is its exceptionally calming effect, without slowing down reactions, causing drowsiness or lethargy in behavior.

    Fospasim belongs to the category of low-hazard substances without local irritation and sensitizing effects. Even its long-term use does not harm the health of the animal, does not lead to the accumulation of active components, or disruption of the normal functioning of all organs and systems at the end of the course. The main thing is to select the exact dosage.

    Purpose

    Fospasim is used for the prevention and treatment of domestic cats with increased anxiety, aggressiveness, and phobias (for example, fear of sharp sounds). The drug helps to alleviate the condition of the animal and calm it down during long-term transportation, change of home or owner, before medical procedures.

    In certain situations, some animals have reflexes towards people with whom unpleasant associations are associated: injections were given, painful medical procedures were performed. Moreover, animals react both to the person himself and simply to the sound of his voice: they hide, press themselves to the ground, trying to appear smaller, involuntary urination often occurs, etc.

    Cat phobias

    Cats do not belong to the category of timid animals; they are predators by nature; they have a well-developed sense of self-preservation: they use all their senses to assess possible danger. These are normal reactions to fear - they are necessary for the animal to survive. But there are also acquired reactions:

    • moderate fears, manifested by trembling, an attempt to run away or hide, decreased activity, involuntary urination, diarrhea;
    • anxiety – active licking of fur, biting;
    • panic - the desire to escape, uncontrolled chaotic movements, sometimes leading to injury.

    Anxiety (anticipation of possible dangers, often imaginary, not real) and phobias (constant, pronounced fear that occurs under certain conditions) cause certain behavioral reactions, these can be:

    • urination;
    • defecation;
    • loud meowing;
    • random throwing around the room, accompanied by destructive actions, etc.

    This behavior needs correction, and Fospasim is one of the medicines that are used in the treatment of neuroses. He is appointed:

    • to reduce fearfulness and aggression;
    • stabilization of emotional state;
    • control of brain function, which helps the cat react normally to external stimuli and various situations that frighten the pet.

    Indications for use

    It is advisable to use Fospasim for cats in order to stabilize the emotional and psychological state in case of:

    • destructive, nervous, overly intrusive behavior, hyperactivity, aggression, including fear of loneliness, separation from the owner, finding oneself in a new environment and other sources of stress;
    • fearfulness for no apparent reason;
    • fear of loud noises (fireworks, gunshots, thunderstorms, etc.);
    • the need for transportation;
    • anxiety disorders;
    • replacement activity, when the pet is ready to repeat the same actions for a long time (for example, digging in the tray);
    • the need to develop new forms of behavior for participation in exhibitions;
    • premedication in order to enhance the effect of sedatives and narcotics, reducing the likelihood of developing side effects after surgery.

    Important! Behavioral disorders are sometimes a manifestation of hidden diseases, so it is recommended to first examine the animal by a veterinarian in order to exclude or identify possible pathologies.

    Fospasim is also used as a preventive remedy for stressful situations and neuroses associated with exhibitions, long trips, moving, noisy holidays, visits to the doctor or groomer (3-4 days in advance), the appearance of new family members (for example, at the birth of a child) or pets in the house. Drops or injections can be used as a sedative for cats during pregnancy and lactation, unsterilized females before estrus and unneutered males in February-March, newborn kittens and all animals, regardless of age. Thanks to its plant base, Fospasim is suitable for use in animals with diseases of the heart, stomach, intestines, liver, and vascular disorders.

    "Fospasim" for cats: customer reviews

    What do the main critics - pet owners - say about the drug? Is the product really as effective and safe as the manufacturer claims? After looking at the reviews about the drug, we can draw some conclusions.

    It’s worth starting with the fact that it really has high efficiency, which was noticed by animal owners. The desired result comes almost instantly. At the same time, the drug only calms the animal, without making it drowsy or lethargic.

    Another plus is the ability to use the same product for both old cats and small kittens. Moreover, the drug is equally safe for both the former and the latter.

    The next advantage noted by customers is ease of use. This point concerns “Fospasima” in the form of tablets and drops, since it is still problematic to inject your pet yourself. And the presence of a pipette on the lid of the bottle allows you to effortlessly count the required number of drops.

    The disadvantages are mainly the high cost and difficulty of purchasing the drug. In most cases, it is not available in veterinary pharmacies, and owners have to order it online. In addition, some are confused by the fact that the drops smell of alcohol, the composition of the product is indicated only in Latin, and its shelf life after opening the bottle is only 30 days.

    As you can see, there are much more advantages in reviews. This means that the drug is one of the best of its kind.

    Contraindications

    Fospasim is a safe drug that does not have a negative effect on the cat’s body. The only contraindication may be individual intolerance to the components. The appearance of vomiting or diarrhea in a pet should be a reason for immediate withdrawal of the sedative and examination by a veterinarian. In addition, there is a low probability of developing allergic reactions.

    Side effects and combination with other drugs

    Fospasim has no side effects or complications. Based on the intensity of its effects, Fospasim is classified as a low-hazard drug; the components of the drug do not have a cumulative effect in the body of animals and are not addictive. But for positive dynamics in the disease, small doses of these substances are needed.

    ATTENTION! If you take individual extracts and extracts, this can be dangerous for your pet's health. An individual allergic reaction to individual components of the drug is possible. In this case, it is necessary to give your pet an antihistamine (intolerance is determined by itching, severe shedding, and digestive disorders).

    Overdose does not cause serious complications, which is due to the minimal amount of active ingredients. But still, the dosage must be taken seriously. Fospasim can be used with other drugs, but only as prescribed by a doctor.

    NOTE! According to the recommendations of veterinarians, Fospasim is contraindicated in: pregnant and lactating dogs, puppies up to 6 months old, with kidney and liver failure in dogs.

    Owner reviews

    Evgeniya, owner of the nursery:

    “I have been buying Fospasim for my pets for more than 5 years: before participating in exhibitions, for cats before estrus, for cats during the “hunting” period when there is no possibility of mating, and even for kittens before being handed over to new owners. I also advise them to use this sedative at first to make it easier for the kittens to get used to their new home. It helps animals survive stressful situations well; I haven’t observed any side effects either.”

    Kirill, owner of the cat Mars:

    “An effective drug. Our cat is very anxious with periodic displays of aggression. Last year they gave him Fospasim drops when another cat appeared in the house (the parents left their pet for 3 weeks while they went on vacation). “We recently took another course of sedatives in connection with the imminent addition to the family, because we were afraid of a bad reaction to a small child in the house.”

    Analogs

    Fospaspim has no direct analogues containing the components listed above. However, other herbal-based sedatives can be purchased at veterinary pharmacies.

    • "Stop the stress." Drops containing extracts of hops, motherwort, mint and Baikal skullcap, as well as phenibut as a nootropic agent.
    • "Fitex". The drops contain a set of herbs similar to the previous product, but do not contain phenibut.
    • "Relax Plus". This tablet preparation contains extracts of lemon balm, valerian and motherwort.

    An innovative product that can calm an animal during heat and help it adapt to new living conditions is the Feliway diffuser, which contains pheromones from specific cat glands. The drug is odorless and does not affect the psyche of humans or other animals. Therefore, it can be used indoors even in the presence of people.

    Important! The use of any sedative must be approved by a veterinarian.

    There are often cases when a dog is afraid of guests, noise or is nervous on the road. Of course, the owner wants the pet to feel comfortable in such situations. The homeopathic remedy “Fospasim” can come to the rescue.
