Compound
The composition of the drug "Amit Forte" includes several active components.
- Fipronil. This substance has a detrimental effect on cat and dog ticks. It blocks the transmission of nerve impulses in the body of parasites, which leads to the death of arthropods. As already mentioned, the substance is not absorbed into the blood of cats and dogs. It only penetrates the hair follicles, as well as the sebaceous glands, and has a local effect.
- Diflubenzuron. This substance blocks the synthesis of substances in the chitinous shell of ticks, which leads to a decrease in the number of parasites.
- Diphenhydramine. This component belongs to antihistamines. It relieves inflammation on the animal's epidermis, relieves itching and pain.
In addition, the drug contains auxiliary ingredients: polyethylene glycol and dimethyl sulfoxide. They promote deeper penetration of active components into the skin.
The drug is released in the form of a solution. It can be dispensed in small droppers of 1 and 1.4 ml or in bottles of 10, 15, 20 and 30 ml.
Agrovetzaschita AMIT FORTE ear drops for animals against otodectic mange, sarcoptic mange, demodicosis
INSTRUCTIONS
on the use of the acaricidal drug Amit forte (Amit forte)
COMPOSITION AND FORM OF RELEASE
Amit Forte contains fipronil and diphenhydramine as active ingredients, as well as auxiliary components. In appearance it is a colorless, homogeneous oily liquid. Packaged in 20 ml polymer dropper bottles, which are packed in cardboard boxes.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Amit forte is an acaricidal drug of contact and systemic action, active against sarcoptic and demodectic mites that parasitize dogs and cats. It has a detrimental effect on larvae and mature ticks Otodectes cynotis, Sarcoptes canis, Cheyletiella jascuri, Notoedres cati and Demodex canis. The high effectiveness of the drug is due to the presence of fipronil and diphenhydramine in its composition.
Fipronil, practically not absorbed into the systemic bloodstream, accumulates in the epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands of the animal’s body and has a long-term acaricidal effect. The mechanism of action of fipronil is to block the GABA-dependent receptors of the parasite and disrupt neuromuscular transmission, which leads to its paralysis and death. Diphenhydramine is an H1 receptor blocker, providing antihistamine and anticholinergic effects, which are expressed in local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory and antiallergic effects.
In terms of the degree of impact on the body of warm-blooded animals, Amit Forte is classified as a low-hazard substance. In recommended doses it does not have any locally irritating, resorptive-toxic or sensitizing effects.
INDICATIONS
Prescribed to dogs and cats for sarcoptic mange, notoedrosis, otodectosis, cheyletiosis and demodicosis.
DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION
When dogs and cats are affected by sarcoptic mange, cheyletiosis, notoedrosis and demodicosis, the drug is applied in a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin, previously cleared of scabs and crusts, evenly distributed from the periphery to the center, including borderline healthy skin up to 1 cm. To prevent licking of the drug, the animals are put on a muzzle or close the jaws using a loop of braid, which is removed 15-20 minutes after applying the product.
Treatment should be carried out 2 – 5 times with an interval of 10 days until the animal’s clinical recovery, which is confirmed by two negative results of acarological studies. Animals with large areas of skin lesions are treated in two doses with an interval of one day, applying the drug first to one half of the affected surface of the body, then to the other. In case of otodectosis (ear scabies), before using the drug, the external auditory canal is cleaned of crusts and scabs using a cotton swab moistened with the drug.
Then Amit Forte is instilled into each ear, 3-4 drops and the auricle is folded in half, lightly massaging at the base to distribute the drug evenly. Treatment is carried out 2 times a day with an interval of 7 - 10 days. In advanced cases of otodectosis, complicated by otitis, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated. The drug is administered into both ears, even in cases of otodectosis affecting only one ear.
SIDE EFFECTS
In very rare cases, with increased individual sensitivity to the drug, signs of skin irritation may appear.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Pregnant and lactating females, puppies and kittens under 4 weeks of age, as well as animals with infectious diseases and convalescent animals are not subject to treatment.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
When handling the drug, you should use rubber gloves, especially if you have abrasions and other skin damage on your hands. During treatment, drinking, smoking and eating are prohibited. Do not pet the animal or allow it near small children for 24 hours after using the drug.

How to apply the product to wool
For notoedrosis, “Amit Forte” for cats is applied to the animal’s fur. The dosage of the drug is calculated by the veterinarian depending on the pet’s body weight. For 1 kg of cat weight, 0.5 ml of solution is needed.
"Amit Forte" for dogs is used for demodicosis and sarcoptic mange. The amount of product is calculated in the same way as for cats.
It is necessary to prepare the affected areas for treatment. To do this, the fur is cut and the skin is cleaned of crusts with a cotton swab. Apply the solution in a thin layer. It is also necessary to treat the border area of the fur around the area where ticks accumulate (about 1 cm wide).
After treatment, you need to put a special collar on the animal. Otherwise, your pet may lick the drug and get poisoned. 30 minutes after applying the product, the protective collar can be removed.
Treatment is carried out daily for 2–5 days. Then take a break for 5 days. After this, they take a tick test. If the study shows negative results twice, then treatment is stopped. If the parasites remain, the courses of treatment are repeated until complete recovery.
Often tick-borne diseases in animals are accompanied by a secondary bacterial infection. Microorganisms penetrate the skin through scratching. In this case, Amit Forte drops are used in combination with antibacterial ointments and immunomodulators.
Reviews
Ilya, Voronezh
“I noticed that my dachshund often shakes his head and scratches his ear. The veterinarian discovered otodectosis and prescribed Amit drops. After the first instillation, Delly’s health improved. And after the second one, I completely recovered.”
Olga, Orel
“During my vacation, I left my dog with a friend. After arriving, I saw bumps and inflammation on her skin. I immediately treated the wounds with Amit. The hardest thing was not petting Charlotte for a whole day. But in the end everything ended well."
Use of the drug for ear scabies
When otodectosis occurs, you need to prepare the ear cavity for treatment. The ear canal is cleaned of crusts using cotton wool soaked in alcohol. Then 3-4 drops of medicine are instilled into each ear. After this, you need to massage the auricle a little so that the solution is better absorbed.
Often during treatment, animals shake their heads and splash drops. If the product gets on the fur, remove the solution with a damp cloth.
For ear scabies, drops are used daily for 2 days. Then take a break for 3–5 days. If the test results again reveal a mite, the course of therapy is repeated.
It is very important to instill the drug in both ears, even if the animal is diagnosed with otodectosis in only one ear canal. This will prevent the spread of parasites.
General characteristics of the drug
Amit drops are produced in Russia. The medicine is a yellow or colorless liquid with a specific odor. The drug goes on sale in polymer dropper pipettes, plastic or glass bottles. Each container of solution is packaged in a separate pack of thin cardboard along with detailed instructions for use.

special instructions
The drug "Amit Forte" has low toxicity to humans. However, acaricides can cause poisoning and allergies in people with hypersensitivity. Therefore, when processing animal fur and ears, the following precautions must be observed:
- Before using the product, you need to wear rubber gloves;
- Do not eat, drink or smoke while working with the drug;
- After handling the animal, you should wash your hands well with soap.
What to do if drops get on human skin? In this case, the solution should be washed off with a strong stream of running water. This must be done even in the absence of visible signs of allergy. Under no circumstances should the drug be left on the skin.
The animal should not be petted for 24 hours after using the drops. Children should not be allowed to play with cats and dogs after anti-tick treatment. A small child can easily become poisoned by stroking a pet.
Bottles and droppers from the solution cannot be used to store food. They must be placed in plastic bags and thrown away immediately.
Personal prevention measures
When using Amit drops, you should follow the safety and hygiene rules provided for working with medications. When treating foci of disease on a cat's body, it is necessary to use disposable gloves, avoiding contact of the solution with the skin (especially if you are allergic to the components of the drug). It is strictly forbidden to eat or smoke during the procedure. If you accidentally get drops into your eyes or onto unprotected skin, rinse the affected areas with plenty of warm water.
After completing the procedure, the cat should be protected from contact with small children for 24 hours. Empty bottles and dropper pipettes containing the drug should be disposed of along with other waste (it is strictly forbidden to use them for household purposes). If allergic reactions to the components of the solution develop, you should consult a doctor as soon as possible. You should have with you the instructions for using Amit or the medication packaging.
Feedback from pet owners
Owners of cats and dogs leave positive reviews about Amit Forte. This drug is especially effective in treating ear scabies. After a course of therapy, the animals' itching and unpleasant odor from the ear canal disappear. Recovery was confirmed by laboratory test results. After treatment, ear mites were absent from the analysis results.
The use of the drug for sarcoptic mange, demodicosis and notoedrosis also gives positive results. For minor infestations, the drops begin to act within 2 days after the first application. The results of the study revealed dead parasites, deformed larvae and eggs of ticks.
At the same time, animal owners note a sharp and unpleasant odor of the solution. Cats and dogs are known to have an extremely sensitive sense of smell and sometimes resist handling. If the pet shows anxiety, then before treatment it is necessary to put a protective collar on its neck. You should also calm and distract the animal before applying the solution.
Some cats and dogs experienced lethargy and drowsiness after using the drops. Usually such manifestations were temporary and passed quickly. However, you need to take a closer look at the condition of your pet after treatment. If apathy and weakness persist for a long period, you should consult a veterinarian about changing the drug.

With the help of this drug I was able to cure a kitten of ear scabies. It took only 2 weeks to fight the disease. I recommend!

Inexpensive but very effective medicine. It quickly dealt with advanced demodicosis in a stray cat. My rating for these drops is 5 out of 5!
Victoria, Rostov-on-Don
My daughter brought a kitten from the street. Having examined the baby, I discovered extensive bald patches with crusts and scabs on his body. The veterinarian whom I turned to for help diagnosed the cat with sarcoptic mange and advised me to treat the foci of the disease with Amit drops 3-4 times.
I noticed the effect after the first use of the drug. Scabs stopped forming on the animal’s skin, and the bald patches began to gradually be overgrown with healthy hair. After the fourth treatment, the symptoms of the disease completely disappeared. The kitten had no side effects from using the medication.
What happened allowed me to be convinced that Amit is one of those few acaricides that really work.
I will recommend him to my friends! Inna Mikhailovna, Vladivostok
