Purpose

Duphalight is a broad-spectrum drug that is used for maintenance infusion therapy, treatment of weakened animals with electrolyte imbalance, dehydration.

Duphalight is a parenteral nutrition that is used for weakened, seriously ill animals if regular food intake is difficult or impossible for them. Through intravenous administration, the drug provides the pet’s body with the necessary nutrients and energy.

Indications for use of the drug are:

  • hypovitaminosis;
  • protein metabolism disorder;
  • significant blood loss;
  • severe poisoning;
  • painful conditions accompanied by decreased activity and loss of defenses.

The drug is prescribed for lack of appetite and refusal to eat, severe diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration. Indications for use include surgical interventions (used in the postoperative period), blood loss, vascular shock, fever, enteritis, inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, Duphalight can be used to prevent stress during animal transportation.

Unlike vitamin deficiency (a severe form of vitamin deficiency, which requires examination of the causes and serious treatment under the supervision of veterinary specialists), hypovitaminosis is an insufficient intake of vitamins into the body. Depending on which vitamin is deficient in the body, the symptoms of the pathology differ. The most important B vitamins for pets:

  • thiamine (B1);
  • riboflavin (B2);
  • pantothenic acid (B3);
  • folic acid;
  • choline;
  • a nicotinic acid;
  • pyridoxine (B6);
  • cyanocobalamin (B12) and others.

Lack of vitamin B1 leads to dysfunction of the central nervous system and disorders of carbohydrate metabolism. Thiamine (vitamin B1) is not synthesized in the body, and hypovitaminosis is the result of nutritional errors. A lack of vitamin can be provoked by long-term feeding of a dog with potatoes, fresh fish, polished grain, as well as feeding unbalanced food, in which there is an excess of carbohydrates and not enough protein.

With hypovitaminosis B2 in puppies and adult dogs, growth retardation, impaired carbohydrate metabolism and oxidative processes can be observed. A deficiency of riboflavin in a pet's body may be indicated by:

  • anemia;
  • muscle weakness;
  • seborrhea;
  • hair loss on the back and chest, around the ears and eyes.

Hypovitaminosis B6 is manifested by a violation of protein metabolism, changes in the protein spectrum of blood serum, and a decrease in hemoglobin synthesis. If the nervous system is damaged, the dog may experience epilepsy-like convulsions.

Lack of nicotinic acid (vitamin B3) in the body leads to skin lesions, digestive disorders, and dysfunction of the central nervous system. The situation is complicated by impaired protein-carbohydrate metabolism. Vitamin PP is involved in the formation of digestive juices, erythropoiesis, and normal liver functioning.

If there is a lack of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) in a dog’s body, digestion is disrupted, protein-carbohydrate metabolism decreases, and anemia may develop. Duphalight, containing a whole vitamin complex, is able to compensate for the lack of substances important for the body.

Protein metabolism disorder

Proteins are the main structural components of a cell. They participate in the synthesis of hormones, enzymes, and serve as a source of energy. Under the influence of enzymes, proteins supplied with food are broken down into amino acids, which are absorbed into the blood. If there is not enough protein in food, their metabolism in the body is disrupted, and protein starvation occurs.

  • decreased appetite;
  • gastrointestinal pathologies: uncontrollable vomiting, gastritis, colitis, peptic ulcer;
  • insufficient digestion of food, impaired protein absorption and others.

Reviews

Svetlana, Pekingese owner

The dog suffered from severe pneumonia and did not eat or drink. In appearance, it seemed that she had a couple of days left to live - her body was so exhausted. We changed more than one veterinarian during the treatment process, and the last one prescribed Duphalight. The medicine was administered intravenously and IVs were placed at the veterinary clinic. I don’t know the dose, but after a week of treatment, the only thing that reminded me of the disease was my strongly toned stomach.

Alexander, owner of several dogs

I didn’t have to use it myself, but a friend – the owner of a shelter – told me that with the help of Duphalight it was possible to bring dogs almost from the other world back to life. Of course, the disease itself was treated with the help of other drugs, but in case of dehydration, intoxication, severe infectious diseases, when dogs refuse to eat, droppers are the only way to “feed” the pet, fill it with energy and compensate for the lack of vitamins.

Irina Sergeevna, veterinarian

I can only say good words about Dufalite. It contains nutrients, vitamins and amino acids that will help support the vitality of a pet that cannot or does not want to eat. The drug is safe, it can be used to treat animals of any age and weight, and it acts quickly. The only drawback can be considered the high cost of the medicine, but this will be felt mainly only by owners of large dogs.

general description

Dufalight (aka Dufalight) is available in the form of a transparent liquid that is yellow in color. The solution is completely sterile and is intended for injections or droppers. The polymer bottle in which the liquid is stored and transported has a volume of 500 ml. The preparation is sealed with a rubber stopper and then rolled up with an aluminum cap. Only such packaging allows it to be used repeatedly, maintaining sterility and all its beneficial properties.

To prevent foreign impurities and bacteria from entering the bottle, the drug is taken only with a new syringe through a puncture of the rubber stopper. Once the drug is opened, its shelf life is reduced to 28 days. After this period, it must be disposed of. In addition, when purchasing, it is important to pay attention to the presence of markings , labels and production dates.

Storage conditions

Vials with the drug are stored in a dry, dark place at a temperature not exceeding +20 °C. The place where the medicine is stored must be inaccessible to children.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of Duphalight as a unique multivitamin complex are obvious. The drug is safe and easy to use; it works quickly and allows you to provide quick and effective assistance to your pet in various difficult, sometimes even extreme health situations. It is difficult to name a worthy alternative to Duphalight, for example, in the following cases:

  • with dehydration and blood loss;
  • in case of metabolic failures;
  • for quick restoration of physical and psychological shape.

When using Duphalight, consider not only the pros, but also the disadvantages of this drug

The undoubted advantage of Duphalight is its versatility - the ability to use the product for animals of any age and condition: newborns and the elderly, pregnant and lactating.

But Duphalight has its own disadvantages and features. They need to be known and taken into account by everyone who decides to use this drug for the first time; among them are the following:

  • injections of the drug can be painful - to make them easier to tolerate, Duphalight should be administered very slowly;
  • the use of the product often causes allergic reactions - this can be neglected only if the symptoms are mild;
  • Duphalight is sold only in large packages and, once opened, is not stored for long - this volume is often too much to treat one cat.

Duphalight for cats - instructions, dosage and price: Tips + Photos and Videos

When a cat is in a weakened, post-operative, postpartum state, it requires therapy and support in the form of a multivitamin complex. Developed by American pharmacologists and distributed in Europe, Duphalight for cats is an effective drug that supplies the animal’s body with all the necessary substances to prevent metabolic failures and hypovitaminosis.

Its use has a powerful tonic effect, but is safe for nursing and pregnant cats.

Pharmacological properties

"Duphalight" is recommended in a situation where support is needed for a weak animal that shows signs of dehydration. While taking it, growth improves and appetite is restored.

The B vitamins in the composition normalize the production of enzymes, amino acids are involved in the process of protein synthesis and hormone transport, and electrolytes take the place of those salts that were lost by the body. Active substances after introduction into the body are quickly absorbed and exited through the bile duct and urine.

Important! "Dufalite" has a gentle effect on organs and tissues, while being absolutely safe.
