You can treat pets not only with traditional methods. Homeopathic medicines have a good therapeutic effect. Instructions for use of the drug Liarsin for cats indicate that this medicine is completely safe for animals suffering from allergies and intolerance to antibiotics. The components of this drug help well in the complex treatment and prevention of various diseases. It is intended to treat a wide range of diseases.

Description of the drug Liarsin

Lyarsin is a homeopathic drug that is used in veterinary medicine to improve metabolism, treat and prevent inflammation of the digestive system. The Liarsin formula was developed (Dolgoprudny, Moscow region). The generic name of the drug is Lycopodium clavatum, Acidum arsenicosum, Phosphorus.

"AlexAnn" is a subsidiary of the group and occupies one of the leading positions among manufacturers of veterinary drugs

Liarsin release form

Liarsin is available in two dosage forms:

  • injection;
  • pills.

Injection

Liarsin injection solution is a clear liquid and is sold in glass bottles of 10 and 100 ml. Each unit is sealed with a rubber stopper and protected by an aluminum ring. The bottles are packed in cardboard boxes along with instructions for use.

Labels on bottles and cardboard boxes are designed in white and green tones. The metal protection on the neck of the container is also painted green. The packaging contains the following information:

  • name of the medicine and its form;
  • purpose of the remedy;
  • composition and volume of solution;
  • special instructions (“homeopathic”, “for veterinary use”);
  • date, series and issue number (on the box cover and on the right side of the label).

The packaging of the drug contains the same information as in the instructions

Some pharmacies sometimes offer Liarsine in packaging with an old design. Instead of a modernized label with a bright green stripe, there may be a white label with green lettering and an image (silhouettes of animals of different sizes). A 100 ml bottle in such a package will be made of colorless glass, but with the same green cap. Originals are sold in both packaging, but pay attention to the expiration date. A box with an “old” label may contain an expired solution.

Liarsin is sold in veterinary pharmacies in two types of packages (from the AlexAnn and Helvet organizations)

Liarsin tablets

The tablet form of Liarsin is sold in jars (20 or 50 tablets) made of matte polymer material. Each jar is tightly closed with a lid with a lock and is supplied with instructions for use. Tablets can also be sold in two types of bottles, but they differ little (the Helvet logo is shown on bottles with “old” labels).

Plastic bottles of Liarsin tablets have a label with the most important information

Composition of the drug

Liarsin in the form of a solution (1000 ml) contains components of plant origin and mineral additives:

  • lycopodium clavatum (club-shaped moss) 1 nl;
  • acidum arsenicosum (arsenic anhydride) 0.01 nl;
  • phosphorus (phosphorus) 3 µl;
  • sodium chloride - 9 g and water for injection up to 1000 ml (excipients).

Liarsin tablets (100 g) consist of the same components, but in a different concentration:

  • lycopodium clavatum (club-shaped moss) 4 ml;
  • acidum arsenicosum (arsenic anhydride) 4 ml;
  • phosphorus (phosphorus) 12 ml;
  • excipients (up to 100 g).

Liarsin contains the strongest natural alkaloid - lycopodine (it is contained in an extract from the cones of the club moss and is similar in its effect to atropine)

Liarsin storage conditions

Both tablets and solution for injection should be stored under the conditions recommended by the manufacturer:

  • in sealed manufacturer's packaging;
  • separately from food and feed;
  • in places inaccessible to children;
  • in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight;
  • at temperatures from 0°C to +25°C (for solution) and -3°C to +25°C (for tablets);
  • The shelf life of the solution in a closed package is 3 years from the date of production, tablets are 5 years;
  • Liarsin must not be used after the expiration date;
  • unused or expired medication must be disposed of;
  • Blisters and ampoules without labels, with a violation of the integrity or tightness of the closure, with a changed color or consistency, the presence of impurities, which have been frozen, are disposed of.

I keep any veterinary medications in a separate first aid kit. I don’t throw away the instructions for use even when the medicine runs out (I paste all the annotations into a separate notebook). In addition, tools and care products are stored in the same first aid kit. Toxic medications (for example, anthelmintics) are stored in a separate pocket.

It is most convenient to store Liarsin with other veterinary drugs - in a separate first aid kit

Indications for the use of Liarsin are the following pathologies in the digestive system:

  • chronic gastrointestinal diseases (gastritis, gastroenteritis, etc.);
  • colitis, constipation;
  • metabolic disorders (protein, fat and carbohydrate);
  • geriatric diseases (illnesses associated with the animal’s advanced age).

How the drug works

The components contained in Liarsin have a combined effect on the gastrointestinal tract of the animal:

  • improvement of metabolism;
  • restoration of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • immunocorrection (support of intestinal lymphoid tissues).

Compound

  • Moss club-shaped. Widely used in medicine.
  • Arsenic. It is used in small doses, so it does not harm the pet’s health and, on the contrary, helps it.
  • Phosphorus. It is this component that increases immune activity

Moss clubmoss
These components are included in all forms of the medicine. There are additional excipients described in detail in the instructions for a specific method of use.

How to use Liarsin to treat cats

A veterinarian should prescribe a homeopathic drug, calculate the dosage and draw up a treatment regimen. But if you do not have the opportunity to visit a veterinary clinic, then you can do it yourself. The treatment regimen and dosage selection depend on the dosage form of the drug. If you doubt the correctness of the calculations, at least call the nearest veterinary clinic and specialists will be able to correct them.

Liarsin can be purchased without a veterinarian's prescription, but it is advisable to consult a specialist before use.

Tablets: dosage regimen and dosage selection

When treating a cat with Liarsin tablets, you need to adhere to the following regimen:

  • treatment of chronic diseases - 2 times a day (7–14 days);
  • treatment of colitis, constipation, gastroenteritis, etc. - 1 time per day (7-14 days);
  • immunocorrection and improvement of the quality of life of elderly cats - 2 times a day (30 days, repeat the course of application every quarter).

A single dose of Liarsin for cats is 1 tablet.

How to give a pill to a cat

The tablet can be given to a cat in several ways:

  • forcibly;
  • by mixing the crushed tablet with wet food or water;
  • using a tablet dispenser (a device that operates on the principle of a syringe).

I tried all the ways of feeding tablets to my tailed pets. The forced method seems to me the most convenient. Of course, there is no need to shout at the cat to “swallow” it. There is a little trick: if you put the tablet on the root of the tongue, the cat’s reflex will work and it will automatically swallow the medicine. The main thing is to fix the cat (lay it on its back) so that its mouth is open at an angle of 90° to the surface on which it lies.

Tablet dispensers are sold in almost every pet store and every veterinary pharmacy.

Injections: treatment regimen and dosage selection

The regimen for using Liarsin in the form of injections should be as follows:

  • for chronic diseases - up to 3 times a day (7–14 days);
  • for acute manifestations of gastrointestinal diseases - once a day (7-14 days);
  • for geriatric ailments (and for their prevention) - 1 time per day (up to 30 days).

Liarsine can be administered subcutaneously or intravenously. Some cat owners buy the injectable solution and use it orally. This is due to the fact that Liarsin was previously produced in plastic bottles (20 ml) with a pipette for desoldering. Now this form is not on pharmacy shelves.

Video: how to give a cat an injection yourself

It is difficult to give an intravenous injection without the appropriate skills. If the cat is in a deplorable condition and Liarsin is prescribed to her in the form of intravenous injections, then entrust this to specialists. One of my cats was once prescribed this drug. The hospital where our permanent veterinarian works promised to give injections for free, but the situation was critical, and the clinic building was located on the other side of the city. Then I went to the nearest veterinary clinic. Specialists gave these injections in a minute, and you had to pay a little (100 rubles per time).

Precautions when working with medicine

The instructions for use contain the following recommendations:

  • when working with Liarsin, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety;
  • After finishing working with the drug, you should wash your hands with warm water and soap;
  • in case of accidental contact of the medicine with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water;
  • people with hypersensitivity to Liarsin components should avoid direct contact with the drug;
  • in the event of an allergy or accidental exposure of the drug to the human body, you must urgently contact a medical facility (bring with you the instructions for use of the drug or the label);
  • Empty bottles of the drug cannot be used for household purposes (they must be disposed of).

Storage conditions

It is not recommended to store Liarsin together with food. Keep medications away from cats, other animals, and children. It is necessary to protect from the sun and high humidity. Tablets can be stored for up to 5 years, sterile solution for up to 3 years.

The temperature regime for Liarsin specified in the instructions for use must be observed within 0...+30 °C.

Often cat owners call strong medications “chemicals” and are afraid to use them. Of course, a caring owner wants to cure the cat without causing it any harm. Nowadays, homeopathic medicines occupy an important place in veterinary medicine. They are created from natural and mineral raw materials, so there is no harm from their use. One of these drugs is Liarsin, a domestically produced medicine.

Possible side effects and contraindications

Contraindications include individual intolerance to the components of Liarsin by a cat. In this case, symptoms of an allergic reaction may appear. In such a situation, the use of the medication should be discontinued, and the cat may be prescribed antihistamines (you should definitely consult a veterinarian).

It may be unsafe to use antihistamines without a veterinarian's prescription.

Interaction of Liarsin with other drugs

Liarsin can and should be combined with other medications:

  • etiotropic (affecting the cause of the disease);
  • pathogenetic (correcting impaired organ functions, resistance and immunity of the animal);
  • symptomatic.

Most often, Liarsin is prescribed together with Veracol (these homeopathic drugs mutually enhance the pharmacological effect).

Analogues of the drug according to indications for use

There are no absolute analogues of Liarsin, but the most similar drug can be called Veracol. However, you cannot simply replace one medicine with another; this can only be done with the permission of the treating veterinarian.

Veracol is prescribed for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract

Feedback from cat owners

My cat was prescribed it by injection, I injected her with Liarsin myself, together with other veterinary drugs. We were prescribed to inject “Liarsin” subcutaneously, it is not at all difficult, I injected at the withers, we pulled the skin well and stabbed with a slight movement of the hand. I also know this drug is injected intramuscularly. Our pussy is already 16 years old, she is an elderly lady, and Liarsin helps her restore various processes.

The cat was poisoned by canned bozite. The doctor prescribed 1 tablet 2 times a day for 10 days, then 1 tablet 1 time for 10 days. But then there’s lactobifadol. I noticed good results, the drug helps a lot. The cat has been taking it for 10 days, there are 20 tablets left.

In the summer, this is not the first year that cats have skin problems and problems with metabolism. It itches every 5 minutes, chews itself, licks itself, hair falls out. The veterinarian prescribed Liarsin injections for the cat. One injection for 10 days. The injections were given at the withers. Already on the 3rd day, the cat began to itch less and eat more. During the first week of the injections, the cat developed terrible drowsiness and a wild appetite, the itching stopped, the hair stopped falling out and the cat began to look happier and gained a little weight.

General information

The composition of liarsine, which stabilizes the functions of the gastrointestinal tract, metabolism and metabolic process, has a cytoprotective effect and an immunostimulating effect due to the presence of three main components.

Compound:

  • -phosphorus, necessary for metabolic failures. Its purpose is to directly participate in metabolism during the breakdown of fats, the production and breakdown of starch;
  • -arsenic white oxide, which reduces the amount of transudate, narrows and normalizes blood vessels in the abdominal area;
  • - clubmoss - herb (in pharmaceuticals its Latin name is Lycopodium clavatum). The endocrine system and its work, blood formation are stimulated by the active biocomponent of this herb - phytosterol. Inflammation is relieved, bile is removed from the body, regeneration increases, bleeding stops - all these are the actions of Lycopodium clavatum.

The dosage of liarsine is selected individually and depending on the disease for each animal (in our case, male cats).
