Review of Dr. Clauder's cat food
Dr. Clauder's cat food is produced in Germany, dry - on, and wet - on.
In both cases, production is carried out to order. Official website - (in German), there is information about ingredients, feeding rates, etc. This food is available in different lines, there is a super premium class, and there is a premium class.
Dog food is also produced under the Dr Clauder's brand.
Composition of Dr Clauder's food
Since Dr Clauder's food is available in different lines that differ significantly in quality, we will consider the compositions of both lines.
Super premium line
Let's look at the composition of Dr. Clauder's Superpremium food using the Kitten option (for kittens) as an example. You can see it in the image below (click on the image to enlarge for easier reading):
Above is the composition data from the official website, below is the translation into Russian.
In first place is “fresh poultry (18%),” a source of protein. It is not specified what kind of bird and what parts of the bird. 18% is a lot, but this is in a fresh state, after cooking the volume will decrease significantly. Further in composition there are other sources of protein - poultry meal (11%), meat meal (7.5%), potato protein, liver meal, protein hydrolysate, fish meal.
In second place, rice is a source of carbohydrates, as is yellow millet, located next in composition. Sources of fatty acids are: animal fats (beef and chicken), rendered lard, fish oil, flax seeds.
Yeast is rich in B vitamins. Beet pulp is a source of fiber. Yucca extract - reduces the smell of excrement. Blueberries and cranberries have antioxidant properties. The remaining ingredients are useful additives.
Antioxidants are used both natural (tocopherols and “eshki” - E310 Propyl gallate). E310 is considered moderately safe.
Premium line

The first ingredient is meat and meat products (chicken), a source of protein. It is not specified what percentage of meat, how many meat products and what exactly these meat products are. Also a source of protein is the ingredient “fish and fish products”, which is in third place.
The second ingredient is grains, a source of carbohydrates. Neither the total percentage nor what kind of grains are used is specified. In fourth place is chicken fat, a source of fatty acids. The last ingredient is vitamins and minerals (which can be seen in the “Vitamins/kg” section), a food supplement.
In general, this composition is closer to economy class - most of the ingredients are disguised by general formulations, the percentage is not indicated.
Wet food
Dr.Clauder's canned game food for cats

In first place is meat and meat products (min. 4% game). It is not specified how much meat, how many meat products and which ones exactly. The second ingredient is cereals, it is not specified which ones or how many.
Next come “minerals” and sugar (flavoring). Among the food additives are vitamins. There is also a note in front of the ingredients that the food is free of dyes and preservatives.
Please note that pouches and pates are all the same in composition and correspond to economy class.
Advantages and disadvantages
Let's write down the advantages:
- a very wide range, there are veterinary feeds, canned food;
- a good vitamin and mineral supplement (the premium line is worse, but still not bad);
- quite common, sold in many pet stores.
Disadvantages of Dr. Clouders food:
- vegetable protein is used, even in the super premium line;
- some ingredients are not specified (poultry, grains, meat products, etc.);
- relatively high price of super premium food line.
Another disadvantage is that the premium line does not reach the premium class, and the prices for the super-premium line are quite high (many analogues are much cheaper).

Customer Reviews
Elena writes:
During our next purchase of cat food, we saw the new Dr. Clauder's brand in the hypermarket. We decided to take a small package weighing 400 g for testing and chose “cold meat”. The packaging is marked “premium cat food”, the manufacturer is listed in Germany, but the packaging is in Russia. Apparently they are transported in large containers, but here they are packaged in small bags.
Ingredients: meat and meat products (chicken, pork, rabbit), cereals, fish and fish products, beet pulp, chicken fat, vitamins and minerals. The percentage of meat content is not indicated on the packaging; there is only general information on the nutrient content.
There are feeding recommendations. The granules are the same as in the picture from the packaging, only there are no green pieces. Also, there is no zip fastener on the package; once opened, it cannot be closed. Our cats refused to eat this food.
Maria writes:
Due to financial difficulties, I had to choose cheaper food. I compared the compositions of many foods, including Dr. Clauder's looked the most good, there is nothing harmful among the ingredients, there are vitamins and minerals. The only negative is that the manufacturer did not indicate how much meat, how many grains and everything else is in the food. We can only guess.
A 400 gram package costs only 73 rubles. Line Dr. Clauder's is very wide, there are both dry and wet food, many different flavors. There are so many to choose from, my cat likes chicken and salmon the best. Other flavors are not so appetizing to eat.
There are no allergies, diarrhea or any side effects from the food. The cat has shiny fur, regular bowel movements, and an excellent appetite. For inexpensive food, I recommend trying Dr. Clauder's.
Lesya writes:
We bought these canned goods because the store didn’t have the ones we always buy. The food is certainly not like Whiskas, it will be better, supposedly premium and produced in Germany. It doesn’t seem bad, but I still don’t recommend it on a permanent basis. Especially dry food, the price of 70 rubles for a 400g bag is alarming.
Canned chicken, and the chicken itself contains “min. 4%,” somehow not very good. Our cat ate it with pleasure, after which nothing bad seemed to happen, as happened after Whiskas (vomiting and feces with blood).
Reviews of Dr. Clouder food from veterinarians and cat owners
Of course, all animals are individual, but still... You wouldn’t go to a restaurant where visitors are regularly poisoned?
And if you do feed the cat “Doctor”... A few extra points for your reputation.1. This food is quite nutritious, so animals quickly get enough of it. In addition to saving money (half a can is enough at a time, not a whole one), there are health benefits, because an animal that overeats can get sick with urolithiasis faster.
And this disease is not just a visit to the doctor and pills, but also an operation, which is very serious for cats...2. When “finance sings romances,” you can buy this food - still, it’s better than the standard store-bought economy class!3. Cats eat food, but without much fanaticism. Conclusion: if an animal doesn’t scream hungry at the sight of canned food or “drying”, it means that not everything is so bad with the composition, and there really are no flavor enhancers in it, or at least a minimum.

4. Huge packaging - cans or pouches. Because of this, however, it is not very convenient to store food - the spider has to be closed with an ordinary clothespin, and everything from the can must be transferred into a clean plastic tray, because, according to canned food manufacturers, storing food in an open metal can is not recommended.
However, for a breeder (or the owner of several cats), such packaging, on the contrary, will only be a joy.5. A large selection of products to suit all preferences of the “tails”: wet food, dry food, pates, and all with different tastes.6. No problem to buy. These feeds are available in any store.7. And finally, the last plus is the lack of advertising on television and other media.
Of course, having considered the cat food “Dr. Clauder's" is versatile, you can understand that if it is possible to abstain from such a diet, then it is better to take advantage of this opportunity. Moreover, experienced breeders say: you can’t buy good food in supermarkets; you need to go to specialized pet stores to get normal food for the “tails”.
In the wild, animals catch birds and mice and eat grass with pleasure. Of course, they do not chew any beets or corn (or any other grains) - so it is somewhat strange why they are included in pet food. So, even in the absence of “eats”, almost natural food may not inspire confidence... And if so, then why risk the most valuable thing - the family’s little furry friend?

Advantages and disadvantages of Klauder feed
There is simply no ideal cat food. Therefore, each mass producer of cat food has its own pros and cons according to the consumer.

Advantages:
- High quality production, European standards, because the food is produced only in Germany.
- Rich in nutrients – up to 95% of the meat in the feed is present.
- Only natural products.
- Rich in vitamins and microelements.
- There are no artificial ingredients - dyes, preservatives, flavor enhancers, soy, etc.
- Cats eat well on this food; there is no need to feed them additionally.
- The assortment of “dishes” of different tastes is very wide. Therefore, you can always diversify your cat’s diet, since Clouder is suitable for even the most fastidious animal.
- Identical series of both wet and dry food.
- The cat's age and health status are taken into account.
Flaws:
- There is no food for small kittens up to six months of age.
- No hypoallergenic food available.
- Packs of dry food are too large in weight.
As it turned out, there are more advantages than disadvantages. It should be noted separately that the price of these feeds corresponds to the quality. It is almost twice as high as the usual Whiskas or Kitikat. However, in Europe, Clouder is considered an economy-class food, so it is available to most cat owners.
