If a repeated dose of the drug is missed, immunization should be carried out as soon as possible.

Multifel is intended for the prevention of panleukopenia, calicivirus infection, rhinotracheitis, and chlamydia in domestic cats and wild felines.

Clinically ill and weakened animals are not subject to vaccination.

Before use in the cold season, the vaccine is heated to a temperature of 36-38°C; during use, the vials (ampoules) with the vaccine are thoroughly shaken until a homogeneous suspension is formed, excluding precipitation of vaccine components.

How to give an injection

You must know and follow the following rules:

  • The drug Multifel 4 is injected exclusively intramuscularly. If you give a subcutaneous injection, the product will not dissolve and will not have the necessary effect, and a hard neoplasm, similar to a lump, will form at the injection site. It can only be removed surgically.
  • A few weeks before vaccination with Multifel, the cat should be treated for helminths.
  • Before the injection, the ampoule with the drug must be thoroughly shaken so that the mixture becomes homogeneous. There should be no sediment at all.
  • It is permissible to use only sterile instruments.
  • Each cat is vaccinated with a separate syringe.
  • It is most convenient to give the injection in the cat's thigh.

After vaccination with Multifel, you should carefully monitor your pet’s well-being and measure its body temperature at least once.

Scheme for using Multifel

Multifel, according to the instructions, is administered intramuscularly to kittens at 8-12 weeks of age and again after 21-28 days at a dose of 1.0 ml, regardless of body weight and cat breed.

Revaccination is carried out at the age of 10-12 months.

Adult cats are vaccinated annually.

According to the instructions, vaccination with Multifel is carried out in compliance with the rules of asepsis; only sterile materials and instruments are used for injection. A separate needle is used for each animal. There were no symptoms of panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis, calicivirus infection and chlamydia or other pathological signs with an overdose of Multifel.

Features of the post-vaccination reaction in cats during primary, repeated vaccination and revaccination have not been established. Violations of the Multifel vaccination schedule should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of immunoprophylaxis for panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis, calicivirus infection and chlamydia. If a repeated dose of the vaccine is missed, immunization should be carried out as soon as possible.

When using the vaccine in accordance with these instructions, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not observed. A quickly disappearing swelling may appear at the injection site.

If some animals develop allergic reactions to the vaccine, antihistamines must be used to relieve them.

The simultaneous use of the Multifel-4 vaccine with the Leominor vaccine against viral leukemia and the Rabifel rabies vaccine is allowed. The vaccine is not used in the same syringe with other biological products and medicines.

FIRST AID

Self-injection. Be careful to avoid self-injection. If you self-inject Multifel, seek medical advice immediately with this leaflet/box/instructions. If possible, apply gentle compressive pressure with an absorbent material (eg, facial tissue) to the injection site to absorb part of the vaccine dose. Strong compression of the injection site should be avoided. The damaged area must be thoroughly treated with an antiseptic.

Accidental self-injection of Multifel into a person can lead to local bruising, severe pain and swelling, especially if injected into a joint or finger.

If pain persists more than 12 hours after medical examination, seek medical attention again.

How to vaccinate with multifel

Multifel is sold in the form of a grayish-pink solution for injection. One dose for an adult cat is 1 ml. Kittens up to six months old are given half the dose of vaccine. Primary vaccination takes place in 2 stages:

  1. Multifel injection at 2-3 months of age;
  2. Repeated vaccination after 3 weeks.

Adult cats are vaccinated against these four diseases annually, starting from the second year of life (not excluding primary vaccination). Vaccinations should be trusted to professionals to avoid adverse reactions.

A few rules for successful vaccination:

  • The cat must be healthy and free of pests. Weak animals often develop allergies and side effects. It is better to give the animal an antihistamine such as suprastin;
  • It is important to maintain sterility when inoculating all instruments;
  • Before the injection, the skin must be treated with alcohol liquid so that an accidental infection does not enter the body;
  • After taking the vaccine, you need a two-week quarantine, rest and proper nutrition for your pet.

The decision to vaccinate your kitten is an important step to ensure its health and safety. Do not leave your pet at risk of contracting dangerous viruses, because you are responsible for him!
