Storage conditions

The principle of action of the drug

Noroclav should not be given to a cat simultaneously with other antibiotics containing penicillin, as well as sulfonamides, macrolides and tetracycline.

I. General information

1. Trade name of the medicinal product: Noroclav injection (Noroclav mjectionis).

International nonproprietary name: amoxicillin trihydrate + potassium clavulanate.

2. Dosage form: suspension for injection.

Noroclav injection contains as active ingredients amoxicillin trihydrate - 140 mg/ml and potassium clavulanate - 35 mg/ml, and as auxiliary components - butylated hydroxyanisole - 0.008%, butylhydroxytoluene - 0.008%, propylene glycol - up to 100%.

3. Noroclav injection is produced in the form of a sterile suspension in glass bottles, sealed with rubber stoppers reinforced with aluminum caps.

The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions in a closed package, is 1.5 years from the date of manufacture, after opening the bottle - no more than 28 days.

It is prohibited to use Noroclav injection after the expiration date.

The mechanism of action of amoxicillin is to disrupt the synthesis of mucopeptide, which is part of the cell wall of microorganisms, by inhibiting the enzymes transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase, which leads to disruption of the osmotic balance and destruction of the bacterial cell. Potassium clavulanate, which is part of the drug, by inhibiting p-lactamase, restores the sensitivity of bacteria to the action of amoxicillin.

The active components of the drug are well absorbed from the injection site and penetrate most organs and tissues of the animal, reaching maximum concentrations after 1.5-2 hours, and are maintained at a therapeutic level for up to 48 hours after using Noroclav injection.

In terms of the degree of impact on the body, injectable Noroclav is classified as a moderately hazardous substance (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007).

III. Application procedure

Injection Noroclav is prescribed to cattle, dogs and cats for the treatment of diseases of the respiratory system, genitourinary system, soft tissues (including abscesses, phlegmon, pyoderma, inflammation of the anal glands, gingivitis), mastitis and other primary and secondary infections of bacterial etiology , the pathogens of which are sensitive to amoxicillin.

9. Contraindication for use is individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

10. Injection Noroclav is used for animals in a dose of 1 ml per 20 kg of animal weight (8.75 mg of active ingredients per 1 kg of animal weight) once a day for 3-5 days. The drug is administered intramuscularly to cattle, and intramuscularly or subcutaneously to dogs and cats.

Before use, the bottle of suspension should be shaken thoroughly, and after administration, the injection site should be lightly massaged.

11. Symptoms of overdose in animals have not been established.

12. No specific effects of the drug upon first use and discontinuation have been identified.

13. Omissions should be avoided when administering the next dose of the drug, as this may lead to a decrease in therapeutic effectiveness. If one dose is missed, it is necessary to continue using the drug at the same dose according to the same regimen.

14. When using Noroclav injection in accordance with these instructions, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not observed. In case of increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug and the development of allergic reactions, the use of Noroclav injection is stopped and desensitizing therapy is carried out.

15. When treating animals, you should not mix Noroclav injection in the same syringe with other medications. It should not be used simultaneously with chloramphenicol, macrolides, sulfonamides, tetracyclines, and other drugs of the penicillin group.

16. Slaughter of cattle for meat is permitted no earlier than 14 days after the last use of Noroclav injection. The meat of animals forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used as feed for fur-bearing animals.

Milk from dairy animals is allowed to be used for food purposes, no earlier than 60 hours after the last administration of the drug. Milk received earlier than the established period can be used after boiling for feeding animals

IV. Personal prevention measures

Features of therapy

For a speedy recovery of the animal, the dose of antibiotic should be calculated taking into account its weight.

It has been found that to achieve an effective dose, the pet's weight must be taken into account. Typically, for every kilogram of an animal there is 12.5 mg of antibiotic, 2 times a day. The duration of the treatment course is 5-7 days. The tablets can be mixed with food or force-fed to the purr.

If the disease is severe, it is allowed to increase the dose of Noroclav to 25 mg/kg. It is important not to skip taking the medication, as this will reduce its therapeutic effect. Instructions for use of Noroklav

To treat cats, Noroclav is used in the form of tablets, with a dosage of 50 mg or 250 mg, depending on the weight of the animal.
