Table: Brit Care food range
Name of food | Type | Average cost (per 1 kg of granules or a can of canned food) | Peculiarities |
Crazy | Dry | 500 rub. | Dry food for kittens. Contains a relatively high amount of easily digestible protein (38%), which is represented mainly by dried and fresh chicken. The manufacturer enriches diets with salmon oil. This allows kittens to receive enough vitamins, omega-6 and omega-3, which are required for the harmonious development of immunity and the central nervous system. Additionally, the recipe includes prebiotics that help normalize the microflora. |
Lucky | Dry | 500 rub. | Standard dry food for adult cats. The manufacturer states that sodium hexamethophosphate has been added to the product, which prevents the formation of tartar. Among the benefits of the product is the content of psyllium. This is a source of fiber. Plant fibers remove rotting food debris and fecal stones from the intestinal walls. They also stimulate the movement of feces, but premium and super-premium foods usually have enough fiber without additives. The manufacturer also cites the presence of amino acids as an advantage. This is a perceived benefit because arginine and taurine are found naturally in meat. If there is enough meat in the feed, amino acids are not added separately. In general, this is the most common food that provides the animal’s body with the necessary minimum of nutrients. |
Tobby | Dry | 500 rub. | Food for large cats. This is a grain-free diet, but the quality does not differ much from its analogues, since grains here replace potatoes and yellow peas. They are also not of particular value for pets and are used as filler to reduce the cost. However, this food can be offered to allergy sufferers. The key feature of this variety is the presence of chondroprotectors: glucosamine and chondroitin. They protect joints from injury due to increased load during movement. Significant disadvantages include the high fat content of the feed (17%) and calorie content (390 kcal per 100 g). Some cats may gain weight on this diet, so monitoring their weight is recommended. |
Angel | Dry | 500 rub. | Food for elderly pets over 7 years old. Contains relatively little fat (12%), which helps prevent the development of gastrointestinal diseases. The increased concentration of fiber allows you to maintain normal digestion, but in case of hypersensitivity it can cause the appearance of mucus and blood in the stool. The proportion of minerals in the diet is reduced. This prevents the development of urolithiasis. Granules are more porous and easier to chew. Reducing the stress on teeth reduces the risk of tooth loss. For some cats, this consistency is more attractive than the standard consistency. |
Cocco | Dry | 550 rub. | Dry food for picky cats with sensitive digestion. To prevent the development of allergies and the appearance of abnormalities in the gastrointestinal tract, the manufacturer has developed a grain-free recipe. However, potatoes take second place in the list of ingredients, so the nutritional value of the food remains the same. To prevent overload of the gastrointestinal tract, the manufacturer uses salmon and duck as the main source of protein. These are easily digestible meats that help provide the animal’s body with a complete set of amino acids. Additionally, the smell of fish increases the appetite of some cats. It must be taken into account that the composition contains chicken, which can cause an allergy when reacting to bird protein. |
Monty | Dry | 500 rub. | Food for cats that live at home. The diet has an average calorie content (380 kcal per 100 g), which allows you to maintain normal body weight. Outdoor cats remove hair during physical activity and with the help of rough tree bark. Pets are deprived of this opportunity, so the manufacturer has added additional sources of plant fiber to the composition. They prevent the formation of dense lumps and promote timely hair removal. |
Cheeky | Dry | 500 rub. | Food for cats that spend most of their time outdoors. The composition is additionally enriched with chondroprotectors to reduce the negative effects of excessive physical activity. The manufacturer adds sodium hexametaphosphate to prevent tartar formation and maintain oral health. The food is high in calories: 100 g of granules contain 420 kcal. The diet is very high in fat (20%), so it is not suitable for all cats. |
Lilly | Dry | 500 rub. | Food for cats with sensitive digestion. The manufacturer claims that this is a hypoallergenic diet, although in fact this is not the case. The main protein ingredients are dietary meats (salmon and lamb), but the company has additionally included isolated chicken protein. Birds relatively often cause allergies, so their presence is undesirable. There are no grains in the composition, but this is not the only grain-free food in the line. The only advantage of this variety is the presence of milk thistle. It improves the condition of the liver, the load on which increases with increased sensitivity. |
Sunny | Dry | 500 rub. | Food for improving the condition of coat and skin. The main ingredient is salmon meal. This is a controversial decision. On the one hand, fish contains more tocopherols and omega acids, which help create a protective film, reduce water evaporation and prevent the negative effects of the external environment. On the other hand, the composition does not contain meat, but salmon flour. In reality, these may be bones, fins, scales, offal and other waste that cannot be used in the production of human food. The benefits of such an ingredient are questionable. |
Daisy | Dry | 500 rub. | Cat food for weight control. The manufacturer increased the proportion of proteins (40%) and reduced the amount of fat (10%) to prevent the appearance of fatty tissue and harmonious muscle growth. The latter help burn energy even at rest, which promotes weight loss. |
Missy | Dry | 450 rub. | Food for sterilized cats. The diet contains psyllium (a source of fiber) and is low in fat (12%), which helps normalize weight. Additionally, the food maintains an optimal level of urine acidity. The calcium and phosphorus content (0.7% and 0.6% respectively) is very low. On the one hand, this prevents the appearance of stones in the urinary system. On the other hand, such a low concentration is fraught with the occurrence of a deficiency, so it is advisable to get tested periodically. |
Brit Care Cat Kitten | Wet (canned) | 85 rub. for 80 g | A small line of wet food for kittens. Approximately 50% of the composition is meat, but this is not the best indicator. This also includes water, which is additionally separated into another separate ingredient. In fact, it is a mixture of animal ingredients with rice, cheese and other additives. |
Brit Care Cat | Wet (canned food and pouches) | 85 rub. for 80 g | Canned food for adult cats is very similar in composition to similar food for kittens, but spiders additionally contain modified starch. It has nothing to do with GMO products and is used to give a thick consistency to sauces. Starch in some cases causes an increase in blood glucose levels, so its presence is undesirable. |
Cat food Brit Care missy for sterilized
Hello, dear cat owners. I think each of us at least once in our lives wondered what to feed our tailed pet. So for our family with two furry children, this question came up head on. Let me start with the fact that our apartment is permanently inhabited by a half-Persian cat, Sonya, 5.5 years old, and a Scottish Fold Persian, just over a year old. I confess that I became concerned about the issue of cat nutrition only with the advent of my second cat; before that, our cat ate spider kitty and dry proplan for all of its 4-plus years of life. I scold myself for this to this day, because there are consequences. Kiteket did not affect the cat’s health in any way, but she acquired extremely strange and unpleasant taste preferences.
So, with the arrival of a new kitten in the house, I approached the issue of nutrition much more seriously. First we tried Royal Canin for kittens, it ate well. But he stole everything edible that was in bad shape. As a result, it was decided to feed natural food. The kitten accepted the new food perfectly, but the cat had to be transferred for a long time and painfully, but in the end the operation was successful and the cats ate natural food for a whole year. However, everything turned out to be not so rosy. Not long ago, I discovered that the cats had gained excess weight, Persian had problems with bowel movements, and I myself was already tired of standing at the stove after work, measuring out the amount of meat, cereals and vegetables 3-4 times a week for cat porridge. And it was decided to switch the cats to complete dry food.
This time, too, I decided to pay the utmost attention to changing the animals’ diet, so I first studied a large amount of information about different foods. Since I don’t have the slightest idea about what cats will eat and what they won’t, in the most decent pet store I bought all the available types of relatively decent food, 100-200 grams per weight (by the way, in our viper’s store only kititet is sold in packs and whiskey, everything else by weight). One of the feeds was Brit. I won’t give you detailed information about the composition, I didn’t remember the composition from memory, and there is no pack. I will only say that the composition is very decent, with a sufficient content of animal protein, without dyes, flavors and artificial preservatives. The full ingredients can be found on the Internet, including other great reviews of this food. And I’ll tell you about my personal impressions of the food and my cats’ reaction to it.
The food granules are brown, medium-sized, and not greasy to the touch, as if rolled in sprinkles. The smell is a little strong, but not irritating. Overall, I liked the food. But my picky Sonya had a completely different opinion. She simply turned away from the cup of food. Neither mixing with proplan, which she eats perfectly, nor a slight hunger strike helped. Brit the cat stubbornly ignores and buries. Minus one(((
But Persian turned out to be much less capricious. He accepted the food, but ate it without much enthusiasm. I noticed that the granules were too small for him, he didn’t chew them, but simply swallowed them. There's one more minus.
We eat 200 grams today, on the fifth day of feeding. That is, the feed consumption for a 6-kilogram cat was 40-50 grams per day. In my opinion, this is not enough, but the cat simply does not eat more. During this time, the cat's stool returned to normal, immediately on the first day. For this stern plus one. But at the same time, the hair began to fall out more intensely, this is a serious disadvantage, because there is already a lot of hair from two tails. Minus one more star.
Summing up, I can say that I clearly liked the food more than my cats)) Sonya doesn’t care at all about all the advantages of the composition, the cat did not appreciate my attempts to feed her in a balanced and healthy way. The food relieved Persian of digestive problems, but added problems with his coat. Therefore, I give the food three stars and will continue to search for our ideal food, most likely in online stores, since we have exhausted the local limit of types of food (Brit, Proplan, Royal Canin), but have not found our ideal one.
Table: Brit Premium food range
Name of food | Type | average cost | Peculiarities |
Brit Premium Cat | Wet (pouches and canned food) | 40 rub. per 100 g | The line consists of several varieties. They are not much different, since in most cases the share of the declared type of meat is insignificant: only 8%. Most of the composition is devoted to meat and meat by-products. There are special spiders for kittens and sterilized cats. They differ from ordinary ones in the balance of minerals and vitamins. |
Kitten | Dry | 300 rub. | Food for kittens. Contains more fat (19%) and calories (410 kcal per 100 g) compared to a standard diet for adult cats. The proportion of vitamins and minerals is also changed, since kittens require useful substances for the correct development of internal organs. |
Adult | Dry | 300 rub. | A line of food for adult cats, which consists of two types of diets: chicken and fish. The division is conditional, since the last product also contains chicken. |
Senior | Dry | 300 rub. | Food for older cats with reduced fat content (12%) and reduced mineral concentration. Low calorie content (355 kcal per 100 g) helps maintain optimal body weight. |
Sterilized | Dry | 300 rub. | Food for sterilized and neutered animals. Contains low fat (12%), calcium (0.9%), phosphorus (0.7%) and magnesium (0.04%). This helps prevent obesity and the development of urolithiasis. |
Sensitive | Dry | 300 rub. | Food for cats with sensitive digestion. Not the best recipe. While the main protein and carbohydrate ingredients are turkey, rice and lamb, chicken fat and corn are also on the list. The latter ingredients can cause allergies and aggravate the condition of hypersensitive animals. |
Indoor | Dry | 300 rub. | Food for domestic cats. It has an average calorie content: 365 kcal per 100 g. This helps maintain normal weight despite lack of physical activity. |
Light | Dry | 300 rub. | Food for overweight cats. The diet is low in fat (11%) and low in calories (355 kcal per 100 g). If you follow daily norms, this helps normalize body weight. |
Additional components and fats
To enrich the taste and aroma, chicken liver was added to this product - it is only 3%, so it cannot be considered as a key source of animal protein.
As sources of fatty acids, 6% chicken fat preserved with natural tocopherol, 2% salmon fat and 1% flax seed have been added to this product - we can say that the characteristics of fats in Carnilove cat food with lamb are worthy of praise.
The composition contains 4% apples - they contain healthy fiber pectin. Some fiber is also found in 1% of carrots and chickpeas.
In our opinion, the 3% tapioca starch added to this diet is needed more for technological purposes, to bind the components of the “dough,” but from a nutritional point of view for cats, this ingredient is, of course, useless. It's good that there isn't much of it here.
Table: range of treats and other Brit foods
Name of food or series | Type | average cost | Peculiarities |
Brit Fish Dreams Tuna & Squid | Wet (canned) | 60 rub. for 85 g | Additional food for cats. Can be used as a treat. Contains fish, octopus, tapioca and rice. The share of ingredients of animal origin is 90–95%. |
Brit Care Cat Snack | Dry and semi-soft (dehydrated meat pieces) | 125 rub. for 50 g | The line consists of many varieties of treats. All of them are non-complete and can only be used as a supplement. There are special treats for kittens, maintaining dental health, improving skin condition, and also for removing hairballs. Pieces of the treat are quite hard; many varieties are dried meat. This helps clean the fangs. |

Composition of Brit feeds, their advantages and disadvantages
To get an objective review, we decided to look separately at food from the Brit Premium and Brit Care lines, and then compare them with each other and understand which series is better. We will evaluate not only pelleted diets, but also wet diets.
Characteristics of Brit Care feed
Brit Care Cat Lucky dry food for adult cats contains the following components:
- dehydrated chicken (22%);
- rice;
- chicken fillet (20%);
- rice bran;
- dehydrated turkey (6%);
- chicken fat (preserved with tocopherols);
- dried apples;
- chicken liver (2%);
- salmon oil;
- Brewer's yeast;
- plantain (200 mg/kg);
- mananooligosaccharides (155 mg/kg);
- fructooligosaccharides (125 mg/kg);
- Yucca Schidigera extract (85 mg/kg);
- sea buckthorn (50 mg/kg).
The first place is occupied by an ingredient of animal origin in an already dehydrated form, which is very commendable. Unfortunately, this is not pure meat without additives. Most likely, the manufacturer uses whole carcasses. The meat is represented by chicken fillet, but after evaporation of water its share is 7–8%. Since rice bran is located after it, there are still more plant components in the feed. Brit Care is classified either as premium or super-premium, but the truth is somewhere in the middle. The latter usually contain more meat, so the line does not reach this indicator, but in terms of quality it is head and shoulders above many representatives of the premium class.
The granules are quite large, so the food is not suitable for all cats due to increased stress on the teeth
Separately, I would like to note that the manufacturer adds enough preventive additives. The list of ingredients includes prebiotics, yucca extract, dried apples, salmon oil, etc. They improve digestion, reduce the unpleasant odor of feces and improve the condition of the coat and skin. From my own experience I can say that the food is well suited for animals with hypersensitivity. After most diets my cat has blood in her stool. We went to the veterinarian and underwent an examination, but did not find the cause. The doctor said that this is an individual reaction to certain foods. After switching to Brit, the situation returned to normal. Of course, the quality of the food is worse than holistic food, but it is what supports normal digestion in my cat.
Brit Care Cat Tuna & Turkey wet food contains the following ingredients:
- tuna (40%);
- turkey (5%);
- rice;
- water.
The composition is very laconic, which is commendable, but canned food is not very nutritious. For example, my cat does not eat even two jars even though I additionally give her dry food. This is most likely due to the increased water content. The liquid is even separated into a separate component. This is normal for spiders, but in the case of canned food I would like to see a higher meat content. In addition, the manufacturer added rice. Most likely, this was done to give the necessary consistency. Although the proportion of grains is small, it would be better if they were not included in the composition at all.
In Brit Care Cat Tuna & Turkey cans you can see some fibers and pieces of meat
Characteristics of Brit Premium feed
Brit Premium Cat Adult Chicken dry food contains the following ingredients:
- chicken (dried chicken 20%, chicken meal 20%);
- rice;
- chicken fat (preserved with tocopherols);
- corn;
- Brewer's yeast;
- chicken liver sauce (4%);
- salmon fish oil (1%);
- dried beet pulp;
- dried dandelion (0.25%);
- prebiotics (mannanoligosaccharides 140 mg/kg, fructooligosaccharides 110 mg/kg);
- Yucca extract (yucca schidigera) (75 mg/kg);
- fruit and herbal extract (rosemary, cloves, citrus, turmeric, 55 mg/kg).
It is commendable that the manufacturer even indicates the weight fraction of the additives. In general, the composition is similar to Brit Care, but instead of chicken fillet, chicken flour is used. This increases the overall proportion of animal ingredients. The manufacturer indicated that the food belongs to the premium class, but in fact it can be compared with some representatives of the super-premium category. The overall picture is spoiled by the presence of corn. It would be better if they replaced it with peas. It is also a useless filler, but not as dangerous as corn. But the company uses natural flavors. For example, chicken liver sauce.
Granules-pads can injure the mucous membranes of the stomach due to hypersensitivity with sharp corners
Despite all the benefits, I cannot unequivocally recommend Brit Premium. It is not suitable for animals with allergies. The most common irritants are chicken and corn. Before switching to Brit Care, I started giving my cat Brit Premium. As a result, the pet developed red spots and the area around the eyes became bald. I had to give up this line, although I liked it better in terms of meat content.
Brit Premium Cat Pouch wet food with chicken contains the following ingredients:
- meat and meat by-products (82%, of which 8% chicken);
- plant protein extracts;
- vegetable by-products (0.4% inulin);
- minerals;
- carbohydrates.
This is a regular premium complete food. The meat content is high at first glance, but in fact most of it is meat by-products. If there were more pure muscle tissue, the manufacturer would definitely divide these ingredients into 2 positions and indicate their percentage. The confusing thing is that out of 82%, only 8% is chicken. A natural question arises: what else does the food contain? Chicken is the cheapest type of meat. If the manufacturer has not indicated the full composition, it means that he is trying to hide something. From personal impressions I can say that the food does not inspire confidence. Before the allergy appeared, I tried giving pouches to my cat, but she vomited some time after eating. I'm guessing this is due to the poor quality of the ingredients.
Externally, Brit Premium Cat Pouch wet food resembles economy class diets: the same pressed pieces that do not look like meat
Which is better: Brit Care or Brit Premium?
It is difficult to definitively answer the question of which line of food is better. Brit Premium dry food contains corn, but it contains more meat. Among wet food, the favorite is the Brit Care series. If your cat is not allergic to grains, it is better to combine Brit Premium dry diets with Brit Care canned food. If undesirable individual reactions occur, you can change the ruler.
Main feed components
Let's look at the first five ingredients. Number 1 here is occupied by 35% wild boar flour - an extremely rare source of animal protein. Even dried and then highly processed, it is superior in quality to ordinary types of meat and bone meal.
In second place is 24% flour from free-range lamb. Compared to barn-raised animals, grass-fed lamb is more valuable, so this ingredient can be considered a very good ingredient.
The label has a “Grain-Free” icon and the words “No corn, wheat, rice, soy.” Accordingly, this grain-free diet does not contain corn, wheat, rice, soy, or their derivatives. Elsewhere on the packaging you can read that the food does not contain potatoes. Of course, this is a good indicator.
Analysis of the composition of Carnilove Sterilized Lamb & Wild Boar, however, shows that the sources of vegetable protein and carbohydrates here are 19% - yellow peas (place No. 3). There are also a couple of questionable carbohydrate additives here, but we'll talk about them a little later.
It turns out that the basis of the feed is made up of the first three components, because in total their share is 78%. Therefore, we calculate the points for this diet based on these ingredients.
In addition, the rating of Carnilove food for sterilized cats is increased due to an additional bonus. As usual, we assign five points to diets that contain 60% or more animal protein sources.
Table: what feeds can replace Brit products
Brand of feed | Class | Composition (first 10 positions) | Price | Conclusion |
Go! | Holistic |
| 450 rub. | A budget alternative with a good composition. There are a lot of plant ingredients, but there is still more meat. |
Savarra | Super premium |
| 500–700 rub. | The cost is higher, there are a lot of grains, but there are no allergens in the composition. The food is well suited for cats with sensitive digestion. |
Organix | Premium |
| 200 rub. | Excellent value for money. For a premium class representative there is a lot of meat in the composition. However, it is not recommended to give food to your cat all the time, because it does not contain enough animal proteins. |
Feed quality and composition
Brit cat food is produced in the Czech Republic. All products are divided into 2 lines: Premium and Care. The difference lies in the balance and main ingredients that make up the feed.
Premium belongs to the premium class and is made from chicken meat. Care is an updated super-premium diet. It costs a little more than the first option.
Brit food for cats is divided into 2 types:
- Wet (pate, meat pieces in jelly). The composition contains natural meat (not less than 90%), plant components, yeast. The flavor line is represented by 9 varieties of protein products (chicken, turkey, cod, salmon, trout, tuna, duck, bream). The product is universal and suitable for cats of all breeds.
- Dry. Made from fresh meat (about 25%), yeast, rice and corn flour and other ingredients. The line of flavors includes about 39 types of food in various combinations of flavors.
In addition, the product contains plant extracts, minerals, vitamins, amino acids, fiber and fats. The manufacturer emphasizes that only natural products are used in the composition. All products are certified.
Important! Brit food does not contain flavorings, dyes or preservatives.
