Composition and release form
The dosage form of Nobivak Triket Trio is a lyophilisate (dry powder obtained by freezing followed by vacuum drying), which is sold complete with Nobivak Diluent solvent.
The vaccine is a dry powdery mass of white or light pink color. To obtain it, a cultural liquid is used, each dose of which contains inactivated strains of feline rhinotracheitis viruses, feline calicivirus and panleukopenia (feline distemper). Upon entering the animal's body, non-viable infectious agents are recognized by the immune system as foreign protein substances, and it produces specific antibodies against them. In the future, if a cat has contact with a virus-carrying animal, the immune system will meet the infection “fully armed” and quickly deal with it, preventing the disease from developing.
Gelatin, sorbitol and sodium hydrogen phosphate are used as stabilizers in the production of the Nobivak vaccine. Nobivak Diluent solvent contains sodium and potassium dihydrogen phosphates and distilled water.
Nobivac Tricat is available in glass bottles, closed with rubber stoppers, rolled with aluminum foil. A bottle of dry vaccine contains one vaccination dose, its cost is 350-370 rubles. The vaccine is stored at a temperature not exceeding 8°C. According to the instructions, the shelf life of the vaccine is 33 months, and the Nobivak Diluent solvent is 5 years.
Dosages and method of administration of Nobivac Tricat Trio
Immediately before use, 1 ml of physiological sodium chloride solution or Nobivak Diluent solvent is injected into the vaccine vial using a syringe, then shaken repeatedly until a homogeneous suspension is obtained. The injection site is pre-treated with 70% ethyl alcohol, then the dissolved vaccine is injected subcutaneously with a sterile syringe. Animals are subject to vaccination starting at the age of 8–9 weeks. Primary vaccination of cats and kittens is carried out twice with an interval of 3–4 weeks. Revaccination is carried out annually with 1 dose of the drug.
Rules of application
Healthy cats are vaccinated with the Nobivac Tricat vaccine from 8 weeks of age. 2 weeks before vaccination, the animal should be dewormed. Repeated vaccination is carried out after a year; if the animal has not been vaccinated before, it is vaccinated twice, repeating the procedure every other month. It is advisable for all cats living in the house to be vaccinated at the same time. For 10 days after vaccination, cats should be protected from sources of infection, since their body is somewhat weakened after vaccination.
The vaccination procedure is carried out as follows:
- Using a syringe with a sterile needle, without opening the caps, transfer the solvent into the vial with the dry vaccine.
- The contents of the bottle are shaken until the lyophilisate is completely dissolved.
- The injection site (withers area) is treated with alcohol.
- The skin is pulled back and the drug is injected after puncturing the skin fold.
- It is advisable to leave the cat under observation for 10-15 minutes to make sure there is no allergic reaction.
The vaccine mixed with the solvent must be used within 30 minutes after its preparation, otherwise it will lose its immunomodulatory properties.
Doses and method of administration Nobivak Tricat Trio + diluent
Before immunization, vials with the vaccine are resuspended in 1 ml of Nobivak Diluent solvent or physiological solution, then shaken vigorously until the dry mass is completely dissolved. The syringe is filled with the dissolved vaccine and injected subcutaneously into the animal. For injections, only sterile syringes and needles are used, and the injection site is pre-treated with 70% ethyl alcohol. Animals are vaccinated twice with an interval of 3–4 weeks, starting at 8–9 weeks of age. Cats are revaccinated annually with 1 dose of the drug.
Owner reviews
Ekaterina Semenovna:
“I vaccinated my cat against viral diseases myself. This is not my first cat, so I know how to give injections. Malvina was 10 months old at the time, an appropriate age. I drove away the worms, bought the Nobivak Triquet Trio vaccine, and carried out the entire procedure according to the instructions. After vaccination, I did not let my pet go outside for 10 days and closely monitored her condition. The cat tolerated the vaccination perfectly, there were absolutely no negative consequences. I give the drug a solid A.”
Angelina Valentinovna:
“We had to vaccinate our cat for the first time at the age of four, when we moved to live in the village. The vaccination was done at the veterinary clinic with two Nobivak vaccines - against rabies, and against rhinotracheitis, calicivirosis and panleukopenia. About a day after the vaccination, the cat was kind of boring, either he was offended that he was given an injection for the first time in his life, or he didn’t feel very well. But everything ended well, and now I won’t worry that my pet, while walking around the village, will catch some kind of virus from its relatives.”
Biological properties
Within 10 days after the second injection, the vaccine triggers the production of specific autoantibodies to the viruses of rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia in kittens and cats. Immunity against viral rhinotracheitis and calicivirus lasts for 1 year, and against feline panleukopenia for 3 years. In case of infection of a vaccinated animal with viral rhinotracheitis or calicivirus, a mild clinical form is ensured for 3 years. The Nobivac Tricat Trio vaccine has no medicinal properties.
Description of the drug
Nobivak Triket is a drug for the prevention of viral and parasitic diseases. Even in cases where the animal has never left the apartment, it is advisable to vaccinate. This is due to the fact that pathogens can be brought into the house by humans.
You should also understand that some pet diseases are dangerous for their owners.
Nobivak Triket for cats is designed to combat the following diseases:
- Rhinotracheitis. A very dangerous viral infection, the symptoms of which can easily be confused with a common cold. It spreads and develops extremely quickly. It is expressed by coughing and constantly watery eyes. Approximately 20−25% of infected animals die.
- Calcivirosis. It is a difficult infection to carry. Affects joints (there is a high likelihood of arthritis), mucous membrane, digestive system and respiratory tract.
- Panleukopenia. Popularly, this disease is better known as plague. An extremely dangerous, often fatal disease. If you do not provide timely assistance to the animal, there is a 90% chance that it will die.
It must be remembered that the Nobivac Tricat Trio vaccination does not provide protection against rabies to your pet. For this you need Nobivak Rabies (suitable for kittens from the ninth day of life).
Triquet vaccine is produced in the form of a light pink powder. To make an injection solution, Nobivac Diluent is used. It is also quite acceptable to use regular saline solution. The drug promotes natural immunity to various viruses. The medicine contains the following weakened strains:
- G2620A.
- F9.
- Bristol.
The medicine is hermetically packaged in bottles. A vacuum is created in a glass vial during production. If the aluminum cap is damaged, the quality of the medicine will significantly decrease due to air ingress, which will worsen the effect.
After dilution, the medicine must be injected immediately, since after half an hour the solution will completely lose its properties.
Description of the drug Nobivak
Nobivac is a vaccine for animals against many infectious diseases. The vaccine formula was developed by the Dutch pharmaceutical company (Intervet International BV). There are several types of this drug that are popular not only among veterinarians, but also among cat lovers.
In veterinary pharmacies you can find vaccines for domestic and farm animals, as well as for birds.
The first was created in 1969 in the Netherlands (Boxmeer). In just a few years, the organization has become one of the best in the world for creating medicines. In 2007, the Intervet/Schering-Plough corporation was created as a result of the merger of the Dutch manufacturer and the American company Schering-Plough. After 2 years, the large consolidated corporation changed its name to Merck and Co. Now popular pharmaceuticals are produced under the MSD Animal Health brand, although in Russia this manufacturer is still called “Intervet”.
Vaccine release form
The following types of Nobivac are used for cats:
- Nobivac Tricat Trio;
- Nobivac Bb;
- Nobivac Forcat;
- Nobivac Rabies;
- Nobivac Ducat.
Nobivac Triquet Trio
Triquet Trio is used to vaccinate cats against calcivirus infection, distemper and rhinotracheitis. The drug is available in the form of a dry mixture (lyophilisate) of a pinkish color. The live vaccine is packaged in glass vials with a sealed lid. Each vial contains only 1 vaccination dose. It comes with a solvent solution (Nobivak Diluent), which is also dispensed into glass containers. Triquet Trio (vaccine + solvent) are packed in cardboard, polyethylene or paper boxes (10 or 25 pairs each) along with an annotation.
Vials with dry vaccine are equipped with green caps, and containers with solvent are equipped with red caps
Dosage and instructions for use
The exact vaccination schedule should be obtained from your veterinarian, since the amount of the drug and the schedule directly depend on the health status, weight and age of the pet. But you should still familiarize yourself with the general rules. Instructions for use:
- Immediately before vaccination, Diluent or saline solution is injected into the bottle with Nobivak Triket to dissolve the powder. Then you need to shake the bottle several times until you obtain a homogeneous mixture and warm it in your hand or under running warm water (this is necessary to reduce discomfort in the cat).
- The drug is drawn into a syringe with a thin needle and injected subcutaneously at an angle of 45 degrees.
Injections must be performed in strict accordance with the recommendations given by the doctor, that is, follow the schedule and dosage.
If this is not done, the effectiveness of the drug against many diseases can be greatly reduced. If an injection is missed for any reason, vaccination must be done as soon as possible. It should also be remembered that Rabies and Triquet Trio can be used in parallel, but they cannot be mixed in the same syringe.
Instructions for use of the Nobivak vaccine
The procedure for vaccinating cats and the dosage depend on the type of drug. In addition, the method of application depends on the type of vaccine.
How to use Nobivak Tricat Trio, Forcat, Rabies and Ducat
Nobivak should be used once a year. A single dose is considered to be the contents of 1 bottle. If we are talking about the first vaccination, then you need to administer 2 doses with a break of 1 month. Here is the sequence of actions:
- Draw 1 ml of Diluent into the syringe.
- Introduce the solvent into the vaccine vial and shake it thoroughly (until completely dissolved).
- Inject the resulting solution subcutaneously (for example, into the withers area).
- Wipe the injection site with alcohol (70%) or an alcohol-containing solution.
Rules for using the vaccine
Before performing a preventive vaccination, it is necessary to worm the cat. The procedure is performed four weeks before vaccination using special anti-worm medications. They can be purchased at a veterinary pharmacy or veterinary clinic. It is better, of course, to consult a doctor about which drug to use.
Vaccination can only be done on completely healthy animals. Under no circumstances should you vaccinate exhausted, weakened or sick pets. It is advisable to have the procedure performed by a specialist.
Also, before administering the drug, the animal must undergo a comprehensive examination at a veterinary clinic. In the absence of contraindications, infectious diseases, or exacerbations of chronic illnesses, the pet can be vaccinated.
First you need to dissolve the drug and draw a syringe. The needle is inserted into the fold of skin between the shoulder blades. It is necessary to pre-treat the injection site with alcohol or an alcohol-containing antiseptic. A month later another immunization is performed.
The next times you should use the same drug as the first time. The procedure for performing the procedure is always prescribed by a veterinarian on an individual basis.
If the solution gets on your skin, you should immediately wash your hands with soap. If the drug somehow gets into the eyes, it is necessary to rinse the mucous membrane under running water for several minutes.
Possible side effects and contraindications
Manufacturers, of course, claim that their drug is completely safe for pets, provided all recommendations are followed. But the possibility of individual intolerance to the drug cannot be excluded.
There may also be side effects that you should be aware of in advance:
- Slight increase in body temperature. In a normal state, this indicator is in the range of 38-39 degrees for an animal.
- Decreased physical activity, severe weakness.
- The formation of slight swelling at the injection site.
If side effects occur, treatment is often not required, and all unpleasant symptoms will go away within a few days. But if there is even a slight suspicion of an allergic reaction, then the cat must be urgently taken to a veterinary clinic.
You also need to remember about contraindications:
- Any diseases, including parasitic ones. If your pet has worms, the vaccine is strictly forbidden to use.
- Pregnancy and lactation period. At this time, you can use the drug with the permission of a veterinarian, but only with extreme caution.
- The kitten is less than 2 months old.
- Period of teething.
- Disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.
- Simultaneous use of another vaccine. The only exception in this regard is Nobivak Rabies.
It must be remembered that the vaccine can only be administered to a completely healthy cat. If the pet is already sick, then the injection can lead to the death of the animal.
General rules for vaccination
The manufacturer claims that Nobivak is a harmless vaccine, but there are some rules that should not be forgotten:
- before use, you need to make sure that there are no contraindications;
- you need to take into account the age of the animal;
- You cannot violate the vaccination schedule (otherwise the effect of the vaccine may “disappear”);
- if the next vaccination is missed, it should be done as soon as possible;
- animals living in the same room must be treated at the same time;
- before vaccination, the cat must be treated for worms;
- Only healthy cats can be vaccinated;
- the compatibility of the vaccine with other drugs must be taken into account;
- You should remember about personal safety measures (it is recommended to use personal protective equipment - gloves, masks, etc.).
Can Nobivak be used in pregnant cats and kittens?
Regardless of the type of vaccine, Nobivak cannot be used by pregnant or lactating cats (except for Bb, it is safe for mother cats). Kittens can be vaccinated, but from a specific age:
- Tricat - from 2 months;
- Bb - from 1 month;
- Forcat - 2–2.5 months (in rare cases, animals are vaccinated at 1.5 months, but in this case the kitten must also be vaccinated at 2 months, and then at 3 months);
- Rabies - from 3 months (if there is a risk of an epidemic, the vaccination can be repeated after a month);
- Ducat - from 2 months (if the kitten’s mother is not vaccinated) or from 3 months (if the nursing cat is vaccinated).
One-month-old kittens can only use Nobivac Bb
Table: compatibility of vaccines with each other and with other drugs
Contraindications and side effects
Contraindications to the use of the Nobivak vaccine include the following factors:
- weakened state;
- exhaustion;
- parasitic diseases (helminthiasis, etc.);
- infectious diseases.
If I'm not sure that my cat is healthy, I always contact the veterinarian. Our veterinarian not only examines my animals, but also monitors whether I comply with the vaccination schedule. If I miss another vaccination, the doctor himself calls and reminds me about it. And so that I can call the clinic at any time, the veterinarian’s business card with the phone number hangs on my refrigerator. By the way, since this business card was in a prominent place, I have become less likely to miss important cat events.
When vaccinated in strict accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, no side effects occur. Sometimes short-term pathologies appear:
- slight swelling at the injection site (with subcutaneous injection);
- slight increase in temperature that resolves within 48 hours;
- sneezing, coughing, slight and short-term discharge from the nose and eyes (for Bb).
Different opinions about the drug
There are many positive reviews about the Nobivak Triket vaccine. The owners say that their pets tolerate the injection well, and the drug itself does not cause any side effects, even in small kittens. This medicine is also very convenient to use due to the fact that it protects the animal from several diseases at the same time. This eliminates the need for other vaccinations. The injection can also be done at home.
Another group of people report that after vaccinations, cats experienced vomiting, weakness, lethargy, and diarrhea. But later it turned out that these animals suffered from intestinal infections, gastritis, and helminthiasis. These diseases were latent. Vaccination in this case aggravated the ailments.
It should be remembered that the animal may have distemper, calcivirosis, or rhinotracheitis. In this case, the drug will most likely lead to serious manifestations of infection.
Such infections can only be diagnosed using PCR. A sick cat may have no symptoms in the initial stages.
"Tricket Trio"
Nobivac Tricat Trio gives excellent results in preventing the most common infections that affect cats.
- Calicivirus is characterized by acute inflammation of the mucous membranes of the respiratory system, oral cavity, and conjunctiva. Tiny whiskers under 12 months of age are most susceptible.
- Viral rhinotracheitis is an acute disease of the eyes and respiratory system, causing mortality in up to 20% of infected animals.
- Panleukopenia (feline distemper) is dangerous because it sharply reduces the content of leukocytes in the blood and affects the gastrointestinal tract of cats. The mortality rate from this infection is frighteningly high - more than 90%.
The immunobiological agent "Nobivak Triket Trio" includes strain G 2620A, F9, MW-1 - inactivated viruses of rhinotracheitis, calicivirosis, panleukopenia, respectively.
The Tricat Trio form is a porous mass obtained by lyophilization and a solvent for injection.
The dry light pink pharmaceutical drug “Nobivak Triket Trio” is packaged in evacuated glass bottles - 0.5 cm³; transparent colorless solution - into 1.0 ml bottles. When diluting Tricat Trio there should be no flakes or sediment.
The immunobiological vaccine "Nobivak Triket" is administered subcutaneously. In rare cases, mild side effects are possible - swelling of the injection site, a slight rise in body temperature. However, such symptoms do not cause any consequences in kittens.
The immune response to infection with rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia is formed after re-vaccination after 10 days. The presence of antibodies to calicivirus and rhinotracheitis persists for a year, and to panleukopenia - for 3 years.

Nobivak vaccine
Probably the most popular, cheap and easily accessible vaccine is Nobivak, produced by the Dutch manufacturer. The chance of side effects and negative effects on the animal’s body with this drug is minimal, provided that everything was done correctly.
Despite the fact that the vaccine is live, that is, it contains a live virus, the risk of developing a full-fledged disease is minimized. At the same time, the activity of the virus is quite enough for the body to produce the necessary antibodies against it.
Another advantage of the Nobivak vaccine for cats is that its effect lasts quite a long time: the next vaccination will be needed only after a year.
Which Nobivak to choose
Depending on the diseases from which you want to protect the cat, its lifestyle and age, the type of vaccine is selected. It is best to consult a veterinarian in advance. There are four types of Nobivac in total, and two of them are necessary for domestic cats too. The drug is sold in packages containing 5 to 10 ampoules. Together with the ampoules containing the vaccine powder, a solvent is sold - liquid for injection.
Types of Nobivac
- Tricat Trio
- Rabies
- BB
- Forket
Below we will look at how they differ from each other.
Nobivac Triquet Trio
Pink powder with a red tint. Before administration, it must be diluted with a special solution for injection. Injected under the skin.
Used to create immunity against the most common diseases, such as calicivirosis, rhinotracheitis, panleukopenia and viral rhinotracheitis.
This vaccine is equally necessary for cats that walk outside and those that stay at home.
Nobivac Rabies
The most important vaccine is used to prevent and create immunity against rabies. It is very important to vaccinate a cat with it, because rabies can also be transmitted to people.
Release form: light yellow or light pink powder. It is also necessary to dilute the solution. Injected subcutaneously or into a muscle.
Before vaccination, it is necessary to undergo an examination by a veterinarian, since it is strictly forbidden to vaccinate animals that are sick or weakened for some reason. Equally necessary for all cats.
Nobivak VV
The only type of Nobivac that is not administered by injection. A white homogeneous substance, after dissolution, is administered to the pet through the nose.
Possible reactions: sneezing, coughing, nasal discharge. It goes away on its own in a few hours and does not require treatment. With its help, immunity against bordetellosis is created.
This vaccine can be given to kittens from 1 month of age.
Nobivak Forket
This pale pink powder, diluted with a special liquid, saves you from calicivirus, panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis and chlamydia.
The selection of the drug for vaccination is carried out by a veterinarian based on the animal’s history and current condition.
For the Nobivak vaccine, regardless of its type, there are general rules for use, transportation and storage. It is very important to observe the expiration date and storage conditions. Vaccine vials must be constantly stored at a temperature of 2°-7°C. If you deviate from these values, the drug significantly loses effectiveness.
An unopened bottle can be stored for a maximum of 3 years. Open at room temperature - 30 minutes. It is very important to carry out vaccination under sterile conditions: sterile disposable syringe, rubber gloves. The drug is administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly. The exception is Nobivac IV, which is administered nasally. One ampoule is used for one vaccination.
Very important: your pet must be prepared in advance for the procedure. He must be examined by a veterinarian, and ten days before the vaccine is administered, he must be given medication against worms and other parasites. If there is more than one pet in the family, then everyone needs to be vaccinated at once.
Contraindications
The animal must be healthy and full of strength, this is the most important thing. If you experience fever, vomiting or other atypical symptoms, it is better not to vaccinate. It is also necessary to know whether he has allergic reactions to the components of the administered drug. Nobivak BB can be used from one month of a kitten’s life, all other types - from two months.
Nobivac is safe to use even for pregnant or lactating cats.
Varieties
Vaccinations are necessary not only for pets that walk outside, but also for pets. The Dutch manufacturer's line includes several series, divided depending on the type of mammal and the infections against which they are intended.
Nobivak Tricat Trio
Produced since 1999 and protects the body from three infections at once:
- calicivirus is a fairly common disease that mainly affects the respiratory system. The greatest danger is for kittens, weakened and elderly individuals. Often leads to death;
- When rhinotracheitis becomes infected, the respiratory organs and eyes are affected. The lethal outcome reaches 10-15% of the total number of infected;
- panleukopenia or feline distemper, which is highly contagious. It is characterized by a feverish state, dehydration, damage to the digestive tract, respiratory and cardiovascular systems. The causative agent is parvovirus, the mortality rate of kittens is up to 90%. If an adult animal has survived the first 3-4 days of the development of the disease, then the chances of recovery increase, but in any case, it will remain a lifelong carrier of the virus.
Protection against three infections
One dose of the product is available in 2 bottles:
- a live vaccine, created from cells that are infected with 3 viruses with the addition of stabilizing components, presented as a pink or yellow powder;
- Diluent solvent (1 ml), represented by a mixture of water for injection and additional components.
Nobivac Rabies
Rabies is indicated for the prevention of rabies, a dangerous disease that causes inflammation of the brain and spinal cord with damage to the central nervous system. It is impossible to save an infected animal; as a rule, they are euthanized, as it poses a risk to people. A person can become infected from a bite from an infected fluffball.
It is hypoallergenic, has a yellow or pink tint, and the presence of easily soluble sediment is allowed. The composition contains dead cells infected with the rabies virus in combination with an adjuvant that increases immunogenicity and glycerin.
Prevention of rabies
Nobivak VV
It is aimed against bordetellosis, which provokes inflammation of the respiratory tract and lungs. The greatest danger is for kittens and older adults. It is not considered vital, but it is recommended when keeping several pets together, as they can easily become infected from each other by sneezing, through saliva, or nasal discharge.
Vaccine against bordetellosis
One dose consists of 2 bottles:
- the vaccine is presented as a white powder, which is made from a weakened strain of pathogenic microbes, with stabilizers;
- solvent 0.5 ml water for injection.
Nobivak Forcat (Forcat)
This remedy is effective against calicivirus, panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis and feline chlamydia, which is a serious disease that provokes inflammation of the mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory system. Most often observed in kittens at the time of weaning from maternal feeding.
Nobivak
Available in 2 bottles:
- whitish-pink powder with stabilizers;
- solvent Diluet 1 ml.
Reviews
Cassandra
“This is not the first year that I have been vaccinating all my pets with this vaccine. There were no side effects, and I hope there won’t be.”
Elena
“This was the first time I vaccinated a kitten; before that, my mother gave it to me at the age when the entire veterinary passport was filled with vaccinations. An excellent specialist came across the veterinary clinic: the kitten didn’t even seem to notice the vaccination, didn’t even meow. At home he behaved as usual, ran, jumped, ate and is now sleeping next to him, purring. In the future I will also use Nobivak.”
Maria
“Over the entire period of vaccination of cats, which is about 15 years, no adverse reactions were noted. Cats usually don’t even notice the vaccination and behave as usual. Well, I’m calm, because I know that they won’t pick up anything nasty anywhere.”
Vaccination of your beloved pet is a mandatory procedure that will protect the animal from many diseases and make its life more comfortable. A rational solution when choosing a vaccine would be Nobivak products from a Dutch manufacturer, since they are easily absorbed by the animal’s body and are most effective as a prophylactic agent.
Reviews of the Nobivak vaccine for cats
We vaccinated kittens with Nobivak Triquet Trio, the first time everything went well. And what happened after the revaccination... Vomiting, diarrhea, they lay like rags, didn’t eat or drink for three days. Injections, droppers. The girl, for whom the triquet was not enough, was vaccinated with the quadriquet and fell ill two days later than the others. The vaccine was given on May 28, children from 30 to 31 got sick.
Today I bought Nobivak Forket. I’ll vaccinate the cat one of these days, and the cat when I’m cured. Expensive, although still tolerable for 2 cats. If there were a dozen or two cats (like the former owner of my male cat), then I would not take him. Out of rage they gave me Nobivak Rabies, as if nothing had happened. Transferred perfectly. But it was placed separately at 8–9 months of age.
You need to get vaccinated! The kitten didn’t even seem to notice the vaccination, didn’t even meow. At home he behaved as usual, ran, jumped, ate and is now sleeping purring next to him. Here he is after vaccination - trying to sleep, but there is not enough space in the box. I lay down on my favorite pillow. There don't seem to be any signs. Behaves in the usual way.
